Internet visionary John Patrick will speak about the future of the Internet at Founders Hall

John Patrick Internet visionary John Patrick will speak about the future of the Internet at Founders Hall on Friday, October 19 at 12:30 pm. A former Vice President of Internet Technology at IBM, Patrick will discuss how the Internet will continue to reshape market forces in health care, retailing, media and education. He’ll also talk about the implications of cloud computing and access to government-produced data; and he’ll address some of the problem areas such as privacy and Internet speed. As author of the book, Net Attitude, Patrick will also speak about the attitude it to takes to successfully embrace the power of the Internet.
President of Attitude, LLC, Patrick is quoted frequently in the global media and speaks at dozens of conferences around the world. Business 2.0 named him as one of the industry’s most intriguing minds; Industry Week named him one of the top 30 people who drive innovation and provide the initial spark to economic growth; and Network World called him one of the 25 most powerful people in networking. In addition to fostering internet technologies at IBM, Patrick was a founding member of the World Wide Web Consortium at MIT; and a founding member and past chairman of the Global Internet Project. He has been a business and technology advisor as well as a member of the board of directors to numerous companies and organizations, including Founders Hall, a donor-supported education and recreation center for people age 60 and older.
