IBM LogoThe month of August is slow in many parts of the business world but it seems IBM took no break as the month was filled with a slew of announce­ments in hardware, software, services, acquisitions, and strategic alliances. One of the most interesting announce­ments to me was that IBM had two scientific breakthroughs in the field of nanotechnology that could lead to new kinds of devices and structures built from a few atoms or molecules.
